A mirror pair of vases in good condition. These "satsuma" vases have a height of 20cm and a width of 7cm. The material is earthenware that is crackled, and their bases are signed Kinkozan Asano. They are dated to around the 1920's. The Japanese poem found on the vases is a famous poem of deep sorrow written by the poet Sugawara no Michizane in the year 901 for his plum tree in Kyoto.
